Tampa Bay second baseman Will Rhymes collapsed at first base after being hit by a pitch due to what the Rays called an adrenaline rush.

Rhymes was hit on the elbow by Red Sox reliever Franklin Morales during Wednesday night's 2-1 Tampa Bay victory. He appeared to be in severe pain afterwards, but walked down to first base. Eventually Rhymes motioned to the Tampa Bay dugout, collapsing in the arms of nearby Rays' first base coach George Hendrick.

Rhymes is hitting .283 in 46 at-bats with the Rays. He spent the last two seasons with Detroit.
