Alex Rodriguez didn't have much to offer in the way of specifics regarding the bizarre pregame injury he suffered.
"I have no idea, I just got hit," A-Rod said in the clubhouse after today's game. "I didn't see anything. I just got hit."
Rodriguez said the ball hit him on the inside part of his left ankle.
"Sore," he said.
A-Rod said this type of injury is a first for him, having come close to getting hit during BP before but that's about it.
"I just fielded a ground ball," Rodriguez said. "I never saw it. I just remember getting hit and jumping around like a rabbit and I see Jeter and Teixeira were making fun of me when I went down for the count. I'm glad they all got a great laugh out of it."
He said he didn't know if he'd be available to play tomorrow.
“I can’t tell you that," he said. "I have to wake up. First thing I’ll do is call Joe and Geno and let them know how I feel.”
And, yes, there was a brief exchange -- though not a conversation -- with FOX's Joe Buck just before.
"I just said hello for literally one second to Joe and just got smoked," Rodriguez said.
