ALCS GAME 6: YANKEES 5, ANGELS 2
It was only fitting to have Game 6 follow a familiar formula of years past. Andy Pettitte, who tied for the most wins in postseason history, was on the mound to start the game. He would throw six solid innings and hand the ball to a trusty bullpen, anchored by Mariano Rivera and the lasting image of him and Jorge Posada embracing in the middle of the diamond to celebrate the Yankees? 40th AL Pennant. The Yankees scored three runs in the fourth inning, thanks to timely hitting by Johnny Damon and the wildness of Angels starter Joe Saunders.

Even after all these years, the Yankees still have "The Sandman." At the age of 39, Mariano Rivera recorded 44 saves in 2009, his most since 2004. With that stellar season, Rivera postponed for another year the dreaded conversation about who will fill his shoes when he retires.

Now 40 years old, he is showing no signs of slowing down, which makes one wonder: Will he ever slow down?
