Andy Pettitte faces Phillies for first time since World Series

The vision of Andy Pettitte on the mound doesn't exactly evoke happy memories for Philadelphia fans. Maybe that's because Pettitte beat the Phillies twice in last years World Series, including a series-clinching Game 6 win on Nov. 4.

That success has continued into this year as Pettitte, who turned 38 on Tuesday, is off to the best start of his career. He enters tonight's game with an 8-1 record and 2.46 ERA. In his last four outings, he's gone 3-0 with a 2.10 ERA.

The left-hander joined Whitey Ford (236) and Red Ruffing (231) as the only pitchers to win 200 games as a Yankee in his last start Friday against Houston. He held Houston to two  earned runs and four hits off  in 7 1/3 innings.

Pettitte is 2-2 lifetime with a 3.67 ERA in seven regular-season starts against the Phils.
