Damon's waivering on Red Sox

Johnny Damon, who was claimed by the Red Sox on Monday, was having doubts about leaving Detroit for his old team.

Damon could have stayed  in an oversized ballpark in Detroit to play for a team 10 games out of first place or go back to Boston, where the Red Sox are a surge away from at least  Wild Card contention.

His Detroit teammates may be telling him to stay, but the organization is telling him his services are no longer required. That is why he was put on waivers.

Damon back in a Red Sox uniform may be scary for the Yankees down the stretch. It also would be exciting.

Damon should pack his bags.
