The online retailer Fanatics.com has seen a 1,000-percent increase in sales of Derek Jeter merchandise for the season compared with last year, a 2,000-percent increase for this month compared with last September and a 2,700-percent increase for this week.

The soon-to-retire Yankees shortstop has been by far the site's top-selling athlete for his final season.

The company, which says it features 296 different Jeter-related products, has made sales for those products from all 50 states and 30 countries. The biggest-selling market other than New York has been Los Angeles.

The best-selling item for the season has been a commemorative final season-logoed T-shirt.
