Derek Jeter hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth inning during a 6-5 Yankees win over the Orioles on Thursday night.

The hit came during the final at-bat of his career at Yankee Stadium. Jeter now heads to Boston for the last set of games he'll ever play -- until he shows up for an Old Timer's Day.

Baseball players past and present, athletes from across the sports landscape, singers like Justin Timberlake, actors such as Chazz Palminteri and other notable public figures (we're looking at you, Geraldo Rivera) reacted on Twitter to the storybook ending.
