Euphemistically speaking, Hank way off base

Hank Steinbrenner is saying he used a ``bad choice of  euphemism'' as he distanced himself  from Monday's mansions comment that seemed directed at Derek Jeter.

A euphemism is a substitution for an expression that may suggest something unpleasant.  Best example is the hit song  ``Forget You.''

Steinbrenner could have said Jeter seemed ``preoccupied with high end residential housing for the season in question,''  and it would not have sounded so harsh.
