Granderson is new center of attention for Yankees

NEW YORK - NEW YORK (AP) — All-Star center fielder Curtis Granderson has put on the pinstripes for the first time.

Granderson was officially welcomed to Yankee Stadium on Thursday. He will switch jerseys and wear No. 14. He used to wear No. 28 with Detroit, but Yankees manager Joe Girardi is taking that number.

The Yankees got Granderson from Detroit last week as part of a three-team trade that included Arizona.

Granderson was a first-time All-Star last season. He hit 30 home runs, stole 20 bases and covered a lot of ground in Comerica Park's spacious outfield.
