The Yankees are holding off on activating Chan Ho Park so they can keep Ivan Nova on the roster to be among the options of long man for Sergio Mitre, who will be on a pitch count of 85 today.

Curtis Granderson, before today's game, did the most he's done on the field since going on the DL, taking some BP for the first time and doing some light fielding work with third base coach Rob Thomson.
"So far right no [I don't feel any pain or soreness], but it’s a lot of straightforward stuff, it doesn’t put any focus on that area," Granderson said. "Even the swing part. Everything we’re doing is good but it’s not necessarily in that area. But the fact that it’s still not bothering me is a very good thing."
*** Nick Swisher is out of the lineup today though he's available to pinch hit righthanded.
"I feel good, everyday it keeps getting better," Swisher said. "I think we’re at the point now where we don’t want to push this because we’d much rather take two, three days to let it heal and get better rather than snapping this thing and missing the whole rest of the season.”
Swisher said he hopes to take some lefthanded swings tomorrow.
*** Javier Vazquez, always one of the more pleasant guys in the clubhouse, showed a little irritation today with reporters when it came to questions about getting skipped for the second time.
"I'm tired of answering the same questions," he said.
Hard to blame him.
"I would be pitching today if there was no rainout [in Detroit] and then on Friday," Vazqquez said. "I mean, I know how it works. I pitched a lot of years. I've been the guy that they bump some other guy for, to get me in there. So I know how it works.
"I can't say it's not disappointed that I'm not pitching, obviously. But like I said before, I'm kind of disappointed in one sense because I want to go out there. But I also understand because I've been there. I usually have been the guy they bump the other guy for."
And with that, today's lineup:
