Among the congratulatory calls Mariano Rivera received after breaking Trevor Hoffman's career saves record was from Panamanian president Ricardo Martinelli.

"It's an honor," Rivera said. "It's just a privilege that the president called you and wishes you good luck and thanks you for everything."

Rivera also heard from Hoffman. "He sent me a text," Rivera said. "It was nice of him. Like I've said before, I have tremendous respect for him the way he took care of himself and took care of the game."
