David Robertson pitched a scoreless eighth inning in Game 1 of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Reds and has allowed one earned run in his last 17 appearances, lowering his ERA to 1.19.

As impressive, he retired two lefthanded batters, including reigning NL MVP Joey Votto, dropping lefties to 9-for-60 (.150) against Robertson this season.

“I wouldn’t say I’m really comfortable with them,” Robertson said after Game 1. “I would say it’s easier to pitch to them. I don’t know why, but I feel like my strengths kind of match up a little better against lefthanders.”
