Sabathia could be even better

Bullpens will give up runs, and relievers will blow saves. These things happen.

But as good as CC Sabathia has been for the Yankees, it's crazy to think his numbers could be even better.

Sabathia became the first major-league pitcher to reach 11 wins this season, beating out Detroit's Justin Verlander by a few minutes on Thursday. (Verlander beat the Mets, 5-2).

Sabathia has won his last four starts and eight of his last nine. He's 11-4 with a 3.05 ERA and 1.21 WHIP. He has 106 strikeouts in 129.2 innings.

And then if you factor in the two blown saves earlier this season (April 5 and April 17), he could have 13 wins so far. In his other no-decision, on Opening Day, he left after 6 innings with the score tied at 3.
