Slade Heathcott goes 4-for-4 for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre

Centerfielder Slade Heathcott was 4-for-4 with a double, a run scored and an RBI to help lead Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre over Lehigh Valley, 3-2, on Wednesday.

Heathcott has a hit in nine of his 12 games this season. Wednesday was Heathcott's first four-hit game since May 30, 2013, when he was with the Yankees' Double-A team in Trenton. It was only the second four-hit game of his career.

Righthander Chase Whitley started for the RailRiders (7-7), striking out two in six innings, allowing six hits and one run. Lefthander Jacob Lindgren struck out two in 2/3 of an inning, giving him 11 strikeouts in eight innings this season.

Leftfielder Ben Gamel was 2-for-3 with a double.

Elsewhere in the minors


Centerfielder Mason Williams was 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, designated hitter Eric Jagielo went 2-for-4 and catcher Francisco Arcia was 2-for-2 with a double and a walk as the Thunder beat New Hampshire, 2-1. Leftfielder Taylor Dugas went 1-for-4 and scored both runs.


Centerfielder Mark Payton was 3-for-4 with a double, a triple and a walk, shortstop Tyler Wade went 2-for-4 with a walk, leftfielder Ericson Leonora was 3-for-4 with a double and Danny Oh went 1-for-2 with two walks as the Yankees beat Clearwater, 9-4.


Shortstop Jorge Mateo was 2-for-4 with a triple, and centerfielder Dustin Fowler went 1-for-4 with a stolen base, but the Riverdogs fell to Augusta, 5-2.
