Texas keeps coming, trails 6-2

The Texas Rangers loaded the bases with one out after Jeff Francoeur singled to right in the top of the sixth inning. The Rangers had three straight singles -- David Murphy, in for the injured Nelson Cruz (hamstring), Ian Kinsler and Francoeur.

Joe Girardi had Kerry Wood warming in the bullpen. But Girardi, who came out to the mound to chat with Sabathia before facing Matt Treanor, stuck with Sabathia. Treanor worked a 3-2 count. Murphy scored on Treanor's fielder's choice.

Alex Rodriguez fielded the grounder cleanly, which wasn't hit hard enough to turn two. Rodriguez checked home, but went to first for the out.

But Sabathia ended the rally and struck out Moreland looking. A Moreland hit with runners at second and third would've made this game very interesting. But Sabathia really battled. In fact, he's battled all game (two runs and 11 hits).

It looks like it may be Wood in the seventh, then Mariano Rivera for two innings.
