The Rangers win the pennant (who'd have thought?)

How fitting that Alex Rodriguez went down so meekly on a strikeout to end the game. Rodriguez symbolized the failed strategy to become a big-time team with a massive contract. He was invisible in this American League Championship Series, except to get booed by the crowd in Arlington.

His buddy Michael Young had the chance to celebrate this night. He was asked what the scene celebratory scene meant and the longtime Ranger said, "It means the World Series is coming to Texas."

You wonder if there will be any real introspection in the Yankees universe, or will there just be a shrug and a reach for the checkbook. This wasn't one of those championship character performances that we all was so poetic about in the course of a Yankees season.
