Why I picked Yanks in 3

You can look it up. I picked the Yankees to sweep this series in three games. Oddly, I did so for reasons that haven’t been borne out by the play in these first two games. Still, I’m sticking with my prediction.

My thinking was that CC Sabathia was sure to win the first game. He did, although he wasn’t as dominating as I had assumed he would be. Still, he was strong when the Yankees needed him most.

Then I figured that there was no way the Yankees would lose to Carl Pavano. He wasn’t as horrendous as I thought he would be. In fact, he did fine. Against the Yankees, though, he needed to be more than fine. He needed to be even better than Andy Pettitte was, and that’s a lot to ask.

Finally, my reasoning was that, if the Yankees had won two in Minnesota, was there any way they would drop Game 3 at home? I’m going to stay with that theory.
