The Yankees announced their roster for the American League Division Series on Thursday morning and it includes three players not active for the wild-card game.

Pitchers Masahiro Tanaka, who is expected to start Game 3, Jaime Garcia and Jordan Montgomery were included on the roster for the ALDS against the Indians. Game 1 is scheduled for Thursday night in Cleveland, with the first pitch around 7:30 p.m.

The Yankees announced that Sonny Gray will pitch Game 1 Thursday night and CC Sabathia will pitch Game 2 on Friday afternoon. Joe Girardi said Wednesday that Tanaka will pitch Game 3 on Sunday night when the series moves to the Bronx. Should Game 4 be necessary, Girardi said his plan is to start Luis Severino, knocked out after one-third of an inning in Tuesday’s wild-card game against the Minnesota Twins.

Tanaka was impressive in his final start of the regular season, striking out 15 Jays in seven shutout innings last Friday.

The Yankees will carry 12 pitchers and two catchers for the ALDS.

Outfielder Clint Frazier, utility player Tyler Wade and relief pitcher Chasen Shreve — all active for Tuesday’s wild-card game — were left off the ALDS roster. The absence of Frazier and Wade leaves the Yankees with just four outfielders for the ALDS — Brett Gardner, Jacoby Ellsbury, Aaron Judge and Aaron Hicks. Matt Holliday is listed as the designated hitter on the ALDS roster.
