Yankees-Red Sox Game 2 Appetizer: more stats

Because we all love numbers...

Jon Lester vs. the Yankees
Derek Jeter has had the most at-bats and success against Lester. He’s 9-for-24 (.375) with two RBIs and two walks. Alex Rodriguez is only 4-for-16, but has made the most of his hits with two homers and four RBIs. Marcus Thames, in a sample size not big enough to determine anything, is 1-for-2 with a homer. Mark Teixeira is 4-for-14 with a homer. The rest of the Yankees have struggled against the lefty. Robinson Cano (.227) and Nick Swisher (.133), in particular.

A.J. Burnett vs. the Red Sox
Mike Cameron has done well against Burnett (.364) and David Ortiz (.273, 3 HR, 8 RBI) has done the most damage. Dustin Pedroia is 7-for-25 with two homers and nine walks. Marco Scutaro is 6-for-19 (.316). Adrian Beltre (.231) and Victor Martinez (.235) have had their troubles. The current Red Sox roster is hitting a collective .254 off the hard-throwing righty.
