Yanks bail out CC again

Things began to unravel for Sabathia in the bottom of the seventh -- first came Brett Gardner’s near-diving-catch on Michael Cuddyer’s double, then the two consecutive walks (with two outs) by the lefty that tied the game at 4.

But lucky for Sabathia he’s got the best lineup money can buy.

Mark Teixeira’s two-run home run off Jesse Crain stayed fair by just a few feet to give the Yanks a 6-4 lead. Then Alex Rodriguez singled and stole second -- his first stolen base since Aug. 14 against Kansas City. The Yanks failed to score again, as Robinson Cano and Marcus Thames grounded out to end the inning.

Boone Logan is on the mound for the Yanks to start the bottom of the seventh. Makes sense, since they want to pitch Sabathia on three days rest.
