Yanks can't break through in eighth

It was only natural to say, here we go... when Nick Swisher led off the eighth inning with a walk from Darren Oliver. Oliver had issued two huge walks in the eighth last night, fueling the rally that put the Yankees ahead. This time, though, Jorge Posada struck out and Lance Berkman grounded out against Oliver. The latter came on a neat play by Ian Kinsler at second base, less than a day after Kinsler's baserunning gaffe.

Marcus Thames couldn't reproduce his Friday night magic against Darren O'Day, who threw one unsuccessful pitch Friday. He grounded out to third.

So if the Yankees are going to complete the comeback that most people might expect, it will all have to come in the ninth.
