If you live or work in the Paramus, N.J. area, or if you're a diehard Brooklyn Nets fan and want to meet someone who projects to be one of the best sixth men in the league next year, it's worth stopping at the Paramus Park Mall Tuesday at 4 p.m. Nets sophomore shooting guard MarShon Brooks will be on hand Champs Sports as part of a meet-and-greet.
Brooks, a Providence alum, averaged 12.6 points per game on 42.8 percent from the floor last season. He scored at least 20 points nine times, and was named second team All-Rookie.
On a side note, don't fret over the Drib's recent lack of content. The Olympics are in full swing, meaning all hands on deck for coverage. For those that are Olympic geeks, Newsday's sports team has rolled out an in-depth, content-packed special section that you can see at newsday.com/olympics. And as a reward for the dribblers' patience, we'll be rolling out some great NBA content over the next few weeks, including an assessment of every NBA free agent in the 2013 class (yes, already), and a project ranking the top 10 players at each position in the league.
Of course, if you're thirsting for all of the offseason NBA player movement, you can click here for Newsday's free agent tracker.
