Has Dwight Howard chosen Brooklyn as his next destination?
According to a report on hoopsworld.com by Alex Kennedy, Howard's preferred next stop is with Deron Williams and the Nets.
Kennedy cites several sources in the report, and writes that Howard "wants to team up with Deron Williams, loves the idea of playing in Brooklyn and knows that the front office will involve him in the decision-making process."
Turn the clock back two weeks to Jan. 17, and it looked as if Howard might stay with the Magic for the remainder of the season. After beating the Bobcats 96-89, Orlando was off to a 10-3 start. And with Hedo Turkoglu, Ryan Anderson and J.J. Reddick all hot out of the gates, it seemed possible that the Magic would contend for the East.
Fast forward to today, and with six losses in nine games, including three sub-70 point outputs, Howard's name is right back on the block.
Howard had actually appeared to widen his "list" of teams in the past several days, including his leaving the door open to play for the Chicago Bulls. The Mavericks and Lakers were also reportedly on Howard's list.
