The Washington Wizards officially signed former Siena star Edwin Ubiles to a 10-day contract prior to Sunday night's 97-92 loss to the Grizzlies.

Ubiles had been with the Dakota Wizards of the NBA D-League since the beginning of the season. The 25-year-old was averaging 20.4 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 35.3 minutes per game. He also appeared in the NBA D-League All-Star Game, finishing with eight points and five assists in 21 minutes.

Ubiles graduated from Siena in 2010. He finished third on the school's career scoring list with 1,929 points, and sixth in scoring average at 14.8 points per game.

After graduating, Ubiles played professionally in Puerto Rico. He was on the Puerto Rican team that won gold at the 2011 Pan American Games.

The Golden State Warriors signed Ubiles on Dec. 10, 2011, but he was waived 11 days later, before the season began.

Should he see any game time, the 6-6 guard would be the first Siena alum to appear in an NBA game.
