Kevin Love, Mike Brown suspended by NBA

The NBA announced Monday that Timberwolves forward Kevin Love and Lakers coach Mike Brown have each been suspended for separate incidents.

Love was suspended for two games for "driving his foot into the upper body and face of the Houston Rockets' Luis Scola." In the third quarter of Minnesota's win over Houston on Saturday, Love appeared to deliberately step on Scola's face after the two tangled up under the basket. The incident was part of physical play that had been escalating between the two power forwards. Love's foul was also upgraded to a Flagrant Foul Two. You can see the video below.

Brown's suspension stems from an on-court incident with a referee during the Lakers' loss against the Jazz last Saturday. Brown came on to the court to argue that Pau Gasol had been fouled on a steal by Utah. He then made contact with an official, and according to the league office, failed to leave the court in a timely manner after being ejected. Brown is suspended for tonight's Lakers game against the 76ers, and was fined $25,000.
