Tyson Chandler knows the difference between a big win in December and in the playoffs.

But he said Thursday’s win over the Heat can help the Knicks in the postseason.

“It’s important to know how you can beat a team,” Chandler said. “Granted it’s one game, but last year things were very different.

“We got smacked around a little bit by them. It’s important that you take a little from each game, take a little learning, because when it comes down to it we’re going to have to go through a team like this when it comes to the playoffs.”

The Heat might be the team the Knicks have to go through. But they will look very different by then. The Knicks won Thursday without Carmelo Anthony, Amar'e Stoudemire and Iman Shumpert

As well as the Knicks are playing they know it’s only December.

“It’s still early in the season,” Raymond Felton said. “We’re happy at 14-4. At the same time we still got to keep moving, still got to get better.”
