Jeremy Lin will get first NBA start

There could be more chants of “JER-E-MEE! JER-E-MEE!” at Madison Square Garden tonight.

Jeremy Lin is expected to start for the Knicks when they face the Jazz tonight. Coach Mike D’Antoni said it’s a game-time decision but he’s “leaning toward starting him.”

Lin had a terrific game Saturday, leading the Knicks to a 99-92 win over the Nets. He scored 25 points, had seven assists and only one turnover in 36 minutes.

The undrafted point guard out of Harvard hasn’t started an NBA game. He played in 29 last year for the Warriors and 10 in his Knicks’ career.

“It’s the same thing for me,” Lin said. “Just get on the floor and play my game and try to help the team win. I’m not really worried about starting, not starting, how many minutes I play – just trying to control when I play.”

Iman Shumpert will move to the bench and likely will be the first guard/swingman off the bench. Toney Douglas is expected to remain in the rotation.
