Mike Woodson spoke to Tyson Chandler about his offense because he didn’t think he was playing like an All-Star lately.

Chandler was named an All-Star last Thursday for the first time and that night he was 1-for-2 and scored five points. The next two games, he was 3-for-3 and totaled eight points. Then Woodson told Chandler to be more aggressive and he was 10-for-11 with 21 points against the Magic.

“When you’re voted as an All-Star, that’s how you’ve got to play each time you step out on the floor,” Woodson said. “I just didn’t think that he was playing at that level, especially on the offensive end. He wasn’t playing with any pace, and I thought last night he had a little pep to his step in terms of pace.”

Asked about Chandler’s reaction, Woodson said, “He didn’t say anything. He probably thought he had some pep, but that’s my assessment as the coach. When I see slippage, it’s my job to address that. Tyson’s a pro, he’s always been willing to listen and willing to learn and do what’s asked of him. That’s how you win. He’s been a big part of what we’ve done so far.”
