MSG will host Friday night's Knicks game

Madison Square Garden will be open for business beginning with Friday night's game with the Knicks hosting John Wall and the Washington Wizards.

Tuesday night's Knicks-Orlando Magic was postponed after an asbestos scare. Workers were in an attic space above the Garden's famed copper ceiling late Monday night cleaning asbestos-related material when some of the debris was inadvertently pushed through an opening and released into the air above the arena floor below.

Testing indicated that the fibers were non-asbestos and the Department of Environmental Protection declared the arena safe later on Tuesday.

Here is the official statement from the Garden:

After receiving assurance from the city and environmental experts regarding the safety of the arena for our customers and employees, all events at Madison Square Garden, beginning with Friday night’s Knicks game, will go on as scheduled. We have been working with the appropriate experts to confirm the arena is safe since debris fell during overnight work Monday. We will announce the rescheduled date for the postponed Knicks v. Magic game, in conjunction with the NBA, in the near future. We would like to thank the city for their assistance in this matter, and appreciate the patience of our fans.
