NBA action keeps D'Antoni awake

The NBA playoffs got off to an exciting start on a Saturday full of upsets and near upsets. Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni said he got so into watching TV on a rainy evening in Boston that he had trouble falling asleep when the action was over.

That is a far cry from seasons in which his team does not reach the playoffs. One year he passed part of playoff season in The Turks and Caicos. "I just try to get away from it and not watch it, because it just gets frustrating," he said.

Amar'e Stoudemire said he did watch Saturday's NBA games but would not watch Sunday before the Knicks play.

Did he take any inspiration from the performance of the underdogs Saturday? "No, it has nothing to do with us," he said. "Different ballgame over here."
