The latest on Nate

Auburn Hills, Mich. -- Nate's agent Aaron Goodwin is continuing to defend his client on Twitter. Tweeted Goodwinsports today about Nate's fine: "Nate has never made comments detrimental to the NBA nor has he ever requested a trade of instructed his agents to request a trade." In a second tweet, Goodwin said: "The fine has no basis and is unfair."

On Monday, the NBA fined Robinison $25,000 for comments made by Goodwin to the media about Robinson’s status with the team. The comments included a trade request. They also included some comments about coach Mike D’Antoni, suggesting that the reason he had benched Robinson was personal and basketball related.

The NBA player’s union is protesting the fine.

Before tonight’s game against the Pistons in Auburn Hills, D’Antoni tried to distance himself from the whole situation. Said D’Atnoni of the fine: "That’s between the league and them. That’s not with us."

Entering tonight’s game, Robinson has missed 12 straight games. Though he made a comment before the morning shoot around that he was getting ready to play tonight, it didn’t sound like that was something that was on D’Antoni’s mind. Instead, D’Antoni indicated that he plans to get rookie guard Toney Douglas involved into the rotation tonight and did not mention Robinnson.
