Nets 2012 preseason schedule announced

It's official: The Nets are coming to Long Island for a night. And they're bringing the Knicks with them.

The Nets announced their preseason schedule Thursday, confirming an Aug. 3 Newsday report that the two New York teams would play a preseason game at Nassau Coliseum. The teams are scheduled to play each other on Oct. 24 in the Nets' preseason finale. The Nets will be the home team.

The Nets will also have quite a few chances to get used to their new digs at the Barclays Center. Of the Nets' six preseason contests, three of them will be at their new arena, including back-to-back home games Oct. 18-19 against the Boston Celtics and the Philadelphia 76ers.

Below is the Nets' full preseason schedule:

Oct. 13 - at Philadelphia (location TBD), 7:00 p.m.

Oct. 15 - vs. Washington (Barclays Center), 7:30 p.m.

Oct. 16 - at Boston (TD Garden), 7:30 p.m.

Oct. 18 - vs. Boston (Barclays Center), 8:00 p.m.

Oct. 19 - vs. Philadelphia (Barclays Center), 7:30 p.m.

Oct. 24 - vs Knicks (Nassau Coliseum), 7:30 p.m.
