We now have a new date for the first matchup between the Brooklyn Nets and the Knicks.
The NBA announced Thursday night that the game will be played Nov. 26, with tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m. on TNT. That's not necessarily a good thing for the Nets, given that will wind up being their third game in a four-night span.
The Nets host the Clippers on Nov. 23 on the heels of their three-game West Coast swing, and hit the Barclays Center court again Nov. 25 versus the Blazers.
Earlier Thursday, Avery Johnson admitted there was some natural disappointment among the players since they've been waiting to tip things off against the Knicks.
"I think guys were looking forward to it," Johnson said after practice at the Barclays Center. "Under the circumstances, we can’t do anything about it. I think it was a little bit of a let down in some ways yesterday, but the guys, we all understand that the game just couldn't happen.
"I think the relief now is we know that we are going to have a game on Saturday unless somebody surprises us."
