The Nets signed veteran free-agent swingman Dahntay Jones Thursday, the team announced.

The well-traveled Jones has played for seven NBA teams over 11 seasons since being taken 20th in the 2003 NBA Draft out of Duke.

Known for his defense, Jones has averaged 5.4 points and 1.7 rebounds in 15.7 minutes per game for the Grizzlies, Kings, Nuggets, Pacers, Mavericks, Hawks and Clippers.

In 33 games for the Clippers last season, the 6-foot-6 Jones averaged less than one point and one rebound (0.6 and 0.3) in 3.7 minutes a game.
