Paul Pierce can still ball.

The Celtics veteran was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Month after leading Boston to a 12-5 March record and the top of the Atlantic Division.

Kevin Durant got the nod in the Western Conference.

Pierce averaged 22.3 points and 5.6 rebounds in March. Now in his 14th season, all with the Celtics, Pierce is again putting up solid numbers, averaging 19.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.7 assists.

Durant's Oklahoma City Thunder went 11-5 in March, keeping ahead of the streaking Spurs for first in the West. The OKC forward averaged 27.6 points on his way to his second straight award.

Both players dropped big games in a packed NBA schedule last night. Durant's Oklahoma City Thunder lost to LeBron James and the Miami Heat, and Pierce couldn't connect on a potential game-winning jumpshot at the buzzer, allowing the Spurs to hang on and beat the Celtics.
