Cross Randy Foye off your "best available free agent" lists.
According to Ric Bucher of ESPN.com, Foye, formerly of the Los Angeles Clippers, signed a one-year deal with the Utah Jazz. Jerry Zgoda, the Timberwolves' reporter for the Star-Tribune, reported the deal is worth $2.5 million.
Foye will replace C.J. Miles, an unrestricted free agent who appears unlikely to return to the Jazz, in the Utah backcourt. He may start alongside Devin Harris, with Gordon Hayward, Paul Millsap and Al Jefferson rounding out the starting five..
The Jazz are on the brink of a major roster turnover, with Jefferson, Millsap, Harris and now Foye all projected to be unrestricted free agents in the summer of 2013. With youngsters Derrick Favors, Alec Burks and Enes Kanter all waiting in the wings, Utah's starting five could look a lot different in October 2013.
Foye, who will be 29 at the start of the 2012-13 season, averaged 11 points in 25.9 minutes per game for the Clippers last season. He appeared in 65 games, starting 48, and shot 38.6 percent from three, the second-best mark of his career.
With Foye off the board, the top five free agents still available:
1. Carl Landry
2. Jodie Meeks
3. Carlos Delfino
4. Matt Barnes
5. C.J. Miles
