Texans coach Gary Kubiak said that Ben Tate will be the lead running back for the Texans while Arian Foster recovers from a hamstring injury. Foster didn't look healthy in the first half after missing Week 1 with 10 carries for 33 yards. He didn't have the same burst as last season.
The Texans running game is good enough to get by while Foster gets healthy. Kubiak also priased Tate's pass protection, which is key for young running backs. Tate is likely owned in most leagues, but if he's not get him now.
Derrick Ward is unlikely to play in Week 3, so Steve Slaton will back Tate up. Tate has rushed for 100 yards in both weeks so far. He rushed for 116 yards on 24 carries with a TD. In Week 2 against the Dolphins, Tate had 103 yards on 23 carries and four catches for 32 yards.
