The proposed bout between WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto and challenger Victor Ortiz bout was agreed to weeks ago. The question was where this fight would take place.

The WBC championship bout will take place on April 16 at the MGM Grant at Foxwoods.

"I'm so happy to be coming back to one of the premiere fight venues on the east coast," said fight promoter Lou DiBella. "Berto vs. Ortiz is as compelling a match as could be made in the welterweight division."

DiBella isn't lying. Berto (27-0, 21 KOs), a talented fighter, has been looking for a challenge. Critics have cited his lack of a real track record as the reason he hasn't landed a big-money bout.

Although Berto has made successful title defenses against Steve Forbes, Luis Callazo, Juan Urango and Carlos Quintana.

That could change after his bout with Ortiz (28-2-2, 22 KOs). Ortiz is a dangerous southpaw with recent wins over Vivian Harris and Nate Campbell.
