After two quick one side bouts, the Garden crowd was treated to, well... another one sided bout in Gabriel Bracero's Super Lightweight victory over Julius Edmonds. But at least this one came after six rounds of action.
And the action here at the Garden was accompanied by choruses of "Tito!, Tito!" -- reminiscent of the former chants for another Puerto Rican fighter in this same building --from some in the largely Puerto Rican-partisan crowd in the Theatre prior to tomorrow's Puerto Rican Day Parade.
Bracero -- who is of Puerto Rican decent and was the second fighter of the night wearing an airbrushed Puerto Rican flag design on his trunks -- easily picked off Edmonds (7-7, 0 KO's) for a 60-54 score on all three judges cards.
Next bout, featuring undefeated Puerto Rican Flyweight McWilliams Arroyo, the former 2008 Puerto Rican Olympian, is slated to start. Then onto Calderon-Iribe.
