Jason Litzau came into his 10-round featherweight bout hoping to beat the odds.
He was a 13-1 underdog against Celestino Caballero. In the end the odds meant nothing as Litzau (28-2, 21 KOs) upset Caballero (34-3, 21 KOs), 94-96, 96-94, 97-93, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
It could've been a case of Caballero, who struggled to make weight, looking ahead to a possible bout with Yuriorkis Gamboa.
Either way, it was an impressive performance for Litzau. Litzau is a grinder who Caballero had no business looking past, especially after an inspiring win over Rocky Juarez last April.
Juarez isn't exactly a world-beater anymore, but it was a solid victory for the 27-year-old Litzau.
