Saturday begins the second life of Paulie Malignaggi.
The former IBF 140-pound champion, who split with longtime promoter Lou DiBella last year, will make his debut fighting under Golden Boy Promotions on the Bernard Hopkins-Jean Pascal undercard.
Malignaggi (27-4) will take on Mexico City’s Michael Lozada (36-6-1) in a 10-round bout that will be broadcast on the Canadian pay-per-view feed.
You can probably call it redemption for Malignaggi, 30, who suffered an 11th-round TKO at the hands of Amir Khan last May.
Other featured bouts include middleweight contender Daniel Jacobs (20-1), who will move up in weight and face Jesse Orta (7-13) in an eight-round super middleweight bout. The Brooklyn native lost his bid for the WBO middleweight title via a 5th-round TKO to Dmitry Pirog last July.
Undefeated welterweight Kevin Bizier (12-0, 8 KOs) will take on Oklahoma City’s Ronnie Warrior (13-3-1) in an eight-round bout.
