Oscar de la Hoya, the man who had a record-breaking pay-per-view fight with Floyd Mayweather in 2007, went out of his way to praise him at the post fight press conference.
"Mayweather is on a different level," de la Hoya said. "He's on a different level because he is a student of the game...Mayweather is by far the best."
One thing that de la Hoya said impressed him was how Mayweather won over the fans. Early in the fight, fans were chanting Mosley, Mosley. By the end of the fight they were chanting Mayweather's name.
"It's a hard style to break," de la Hoya said of Mayweather's defense. "I appreciated what he is all about after the fight."
As for a fight with Manny Pacquiao, de la Hoya is convinced Mayweather is the superior fighter who will prevail. But will it happen? de la Hoya said that's up to Mayweather.
"Mayweather is the one to dictate," de la Hoya said. "Mayweather is the one to say when, where, who."
