The Paul Williams-Kermit Cintron fight was stopped in Round 4 after the two fighters got tangled up.

Williams hit the deck, but Cintron actually fell through the ropes and rolled on the punchstat table outside of the ring.

Under California rules, after 3 complete rounds, they have to go to the judges.

The judges scored the bout, 39-37 (Williams), 40-36 (Williams), 40-36 (Cintron). Williams gets the win. Incidentally, both fighters still get paid.

So what's next for Williams? Williams wants to fight Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao. Can't see that happening until Williams goes back down to 147 and stays there. Williams would certainly take a rematch against Sergio Martinez. But Martinez may not want that.

Is there a chance for another fight with Cintron? Who knows? Cintron may want to fight Williams, but Williams may not want that. And boxing fans certainly don't want to see that debacle again.

Stay tuned.
