Brad Lidge will miss at least 3-6 weeks with a partially torn rotator cuff. Indications are it will be longer and Lidge said he hopes to be back for the second half of the season. Manager Charlie Manuel said that right now Jose Contreras is the closer.

Contreras pitched well out of the bullpen last season and fared well in his limited time as the closer. Still, he lacks any track record as a closer. Ryan Madson has pitched very well as a setup man, but has struggled when given the chance to close. Madson is the better pitcher and while Contreras is the one to pickup first, I'd still own Madson in mixed leagues.
