Aaron Braun of Flagstaff, Arizona, won his second Great Cow Harbor 10K Run on Saturday, defeating a field dominated by elite runners from around the country. Braun, 29, broke the tape on Main Street in Northport in 29 minutes, 23 seconds. Stephen Pifer, 31, of Superior, Colorado, finished 13 seconds behind for second place. Nicholas Filippazzo, 22, an Adelphi University student from Wantagh, was third in 29:49.

First-time Cow Harbor entrant Natosha Rogers, 25, of Littleton, Colorado, won the women’s division comfortably in 33:16. She spoiled the three-peat hopes of 2014 and 2015 Cow Harbor winner Brianne Nelson, 35, of Golden, Colorado. Nelson finished second in 33:32. Leonora Petrina, 34, of Bayport, a Stony Brook University graduate, finished third among women in 2014 and was third again on Saturday in 34 minutes.

Braun won the race in 2014 and was second in 2010, losing by just two seconds. A hip injury prevented him from defending his title in 2015.

The 6.2-mile Cow Harbor race, which was run for its 39th time through the streets of Northport, is among the largest each year on Long Island. Posted results showed 4,109 runners and walkers completing the 6.2-mile course. The race awards $3,500 to the winners, $2,000 for second place, and $1,250 for third.
