A few notes from Saturday's games

No. 10 Oklahoma State's 48-14 win over Kansas gave the Cowboys a share of the Big 12 South title. Oklahoma State can win the title outright if Oklahoma loses to Baylor on Saturday night. The Sooners are up 34-7 at halftime, so that isn't happening. So it looks like the Big 12 South title and a spot in the conference title game will come down to next Saturday's game, Oklahoma at Oklahoma State.

-- No. 16 Virginia Tech's 31-17 win at No. 24 Miami gave the Hokies the ACC Coastal title and a spot in the conference championship game. Virginia Tech may be playing North Carolina State -- a 29-25 winner over North Carolina on Saturday -- for the ACC title. North Carolina State only needs to win at Maryland next week to claim the Atlantic Division title. Back to Virginia Tech: the Hokies have won nine straight after starting the season with losses to Boise State and James Madison. Virginia Tech still has Virginia next week, which would give them 10 wins with a victory. If the Hokies win the ACC title game, they could be heading to the Orange Bowl with an 11-2 record,

-- No. 6 Stanford had no trouble with its rivalry game against California, winning 48-14. Stanford is now 10-1 overall and remains in contention for a possible Rose Bowl bid, depending on whether Oregon is playing for the BCS national title. If Oregon plays in the Rose Bowl, it will be interesting to see what happens to Stanford. If there's no BCS at-large bid. a one-loss Stanford team might be playing in a minor bowl.
