No. 9 Ohio State rallied in the second half to beat Penn State 38-14. Meanwhile, No. 7 Wisconsin put up an incredible 83 points on Indiana in an 83-20 win.
No. 11 Michigan State had the week off.
No. 13 Iowa's 21-17 upset loss at Northwestern drops the Hawkeyes from the Big Ten title race. (Northwestern quarterback Dan Persa, who played a great game against Iowa, will miss the remainder of the season after rupturing his Achilles' tendon on the game-winning touchdown pass).
So Ohio State, Wisconsin and Michigan State all have 9-1 overall records and 5-1 records in the Big Ten. Ohio State lost to Wisconsin, but doesn't play Michigan State this season. Wisconsin has the Ohio State win, but a loss to Michigan State. Michigan State has the Wisconsin win and won't have to play Ohio State.
Ohio State still has to go to Iowa City next Saturday to play the Hawkeyes (7-3, 4-2) and then hosts Michigan (7-3, 3-3).
Wisconsin also has a tough end to the season with a game at Michigan next Saturday and then home to Northwestern (7-3, 3-3), which won't have Persa.
Michigan State hosts Purdue (4-6, 2-4) next week and finishes in Happy Valley against Penn State (6-4, 3-3). Michigan State has never won in Beaver Stadium.
Wisconsin has the higher BCS ranking of the three teams. But Michigan State has the head-to-head win over Wisconsin.
