Butler beats KSU 63-56 to make Final Four

Gordon Hayward scored 22 points to help tiny, fifth-seeded Butler beat No. 2 Kansas State 63-56 in the West Regional final Saturday to advance to the Final Four.

Shelvin Mack had 16 for the Bulldogs (32-4), who won their 24th straight game. They head to the Final Four in downtown Indianapolis, only 5 miles from their campus, where parts of the underdog classic “Hoosiers” was filmed.

Denis Clemente had 18 tough points to lead Kansas State (29-8), which was trying for its first Final Four since 1964 but got stifled at almost every turn. The Wildcats tied it at 54, but got outscored 9-2 over the final 3:06.
