Aggressive first half for St. John's

St. John's was determined to come out aggressively and it showed. Every Notre Dame pass, every dribble was challenged. It worke, too, as the Srorm held the Irish to 19 points on 4-for-14 shooting and caused 14 turnovers in the first half. St. John's leads, 26-19. Malik Boothe leads all scorers with 8 points, the bulk of those on back-to-back 3 pointers.

Another key stat is that St. John's doesn't have anyone with more than 2 fouls. Notre Dame's Tyrone Nash and Scott Martin each have 3. There were 29 fouls called in a choppy (as in karate chop) first 20 minues.

Notre Dame has zero second-chance points and zero fast-break points. Signs of good hustle by St. John's.
