Aliyah McDonald nailed a buzzer-beating three-pointer as the Molloy women's basketball team upset No. 10 University of Tampa, 59-58, yesterday in the Florida Southern Tournament.

"We had nothing to lose and everything to prove," Molloy coach Kate Lynch said.

McDonald (Hempstead) had 10 points and eight assists.

The Spartans (7-3) led 58-56 with four seconds left. That's when Kimani Jackson inbounded the ball for Molloy (5-5).

Jackson found McDonald, who got open after Megan Lonergan (13 points) set a screen. McDonald dribbled four steps, then pulled up from the left wing unguarded.

"I just went for the go big or go home," McDonald said. "We're feeling confident going into conference play."
